Oh snap...

So some of you may not know but Steve and I have made a firm decision to get the hell outta dodge. Okay, not really. But we are moving. We posted this house for sale and hope to be moving closer to downtown/east-ish... somewhere between Salt Lake and Holladay. Anywhere NOT West Valley. We have found a bunch of houses that accept pets and are super cute. We posted the house last week, and already someone has come to take a look at it. He is looking to add to the mobile home park he and his wife just purchased, and it seems somewhat promising even though this place needs so much work. So, cross your fingers!

Next up, I have't really been talking about movies. So here are a few:

Rise of the Planet of the Apes - James Franco & John Lithgow... this movie was fantastic. There were several times it was really hard to watch because it would just be sad. But overall I absolutely loved it and would totally watch it again. However, when I heard about it I had zero intention of going. It was my husband and brother that wanted to see it. I'm glad I went! I really have no complaints about this movie whatsoever.

The Help - I watched this movie last night. I knew it would be really long. When I think of the title, I hear the guys in X96 groaning about the length. However, I think it was worth it. It's really not that eventful, though it's based on a book that is based on historical events. I just thought it was a touching movie.

The Beaver - I wasn't really a fan. I love Mel Gibson, but this movie didn't do anything for me. There are parts that are meant to be humorous, but I don't think I did more than give a slight twitch of a smile.

Win Win - This movie had a couple funny moments, but mostly it was just your average movie. I still really liked it though. It was not memorable to me, and I will probably forget all about it in a week or two. But I still liked it. haha Besides, how can I not like a movie with Paul Giamatti?

I plan to watch TrollHunter. I believe it's Norwegian. I am watching the English dubbed version though. Call me lame all you want, but sometimes I just want to watch a movie to enjoy it, not so that I have to focus more on reading subs rather than watching what's going on on the screen.

Moving on from movies... what do you think of my new blog? I am planning to make a few new changes that will incorporate a lot of color I think, so I wanted something darker. And I couldn't find a banner I really liked, plus I don't want one that someone else might have. So I just made it myself. Overall I'm happy with it.

Here is what I hope to have coming:

Product reviews and giveaways inspired by those products.
Giveaways that happen just because and are not brought on by a review.
...and some other stuff.

Anyways, I just wanted to catch up a bit. Until something else comes up... goodnight, crazy world!

I'm feeling a bit fruity...

Steve and I went grocery shopping yesterday. I decided I was going to make a few different kinds of cupcakes and needed some fruit. So while we were over in produce, I absolutely had to get a bag of cherries. NOT for the cupcakes. For me.

I should mention that I am going to make Peach Cupcakes with Brown Sugar Icing, Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes (which are made with fresh strawberries and lemons), Red Velvet Cupcakes, and Ferror Rocher inspired cupcakes. The last ones are what I'm most excited for.

Anyways, after spending some time playing games with my brother and what not, nobody was all that hungry for dinner (we had been snacking throughout). So I myself had half an avocado, a handful of sliced strawberries with some whipped cream (to finish off my dairy and then stop forever), and a handful of plump sweet cherries.

The avocado was sooo good. I have never had one more perfect. It was mostly firm, a tiny bit soft, and had the perfect amount of fresh flavor. The strawberries were good, of course. How can they not be when they are dipped in whipped topping?

The cherries... they were fantastic. But forget the flavor. I learned something that I think should have been obvious to me already: the stem is connected to the pit! I really had no idea! I know I know... it's a stupid thing to not know. But wow! My mind is completely blown by this! I dont have to pull the cherry from the stem to eat it. I can just eat around the stem, which means I dont have to spit out the pit!

So then I start thinking about the process of cherries, and fruits in general. How crazy is it that this yummy, plump, juicy red fruit starts out as a little pink flower, and then eventually the meat is growing from the pit! So then I have to wonder about all fruit.. strawberries dont have a pit. Neither to oranges. And so I am off to look for videos that are sped up showing a piece of fruit growing.

See ya later world!

It's peanut butter jelly time!

As I type the title to this post, I hear my husbands loud voice singing the song and...

Oh sorry about that... I had to take a moment to face palm. Moving on. It really is peanut butter jelly time! Though I would say something more like.... it's peanut butter jelly cupcake with chocolate drizzle time! That makes a lot more sense.

I found an event in Sunset on September 10th where I can set up shop! I'm really excited about it. I have been going through a list of items to bake and sell...kind of making the list a little shorter as I re-read it... so here is the list so far.

Cookies

* Sugar cookies - super thick and soft with the absolute best frosting you will ever try. I promise.

*For My Love - Thin and crisp sweet sugar cookie with candy heart center. Think.. cookie with a stained glass window.

*Death by Chocolate - Chocolate chocolate chip cookies partially dipped in white or milk chocolate coating and sprinkled with nuts or chocolate shavings. Very much my kind of cookie!

cake pops

*Strawberry Creme - Strawberry cake with vanilla frosting - pink or white coating - opposite nonpareils

*Confetti - Confetti cake (strawberry, chocolate,or vanilla) with the same coating and sprinkles

*Grasshopper - Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and mint-flavored coating tinted green, topped with cookie sprinkles.

*Peanut Butter/Chocolate - Double chocolate cake with peanut butter or chocolate coating, rolled in roasted peanuts and drizzled with chocolate.

Cake/cookie ball

*O-Oreo! - Oreo cookie center with thin layer of chocolate coating, dipped again in thin layer of white chocolate coating - sprinkled with cookie pieces.

*Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - chocolate chip cookie dough center, dipped in chocolate coating and topped with chocolate shavings. THIS IS UNCOOKED BUT CONTAINS NO EGGS.

*Sugar cookie Dough - same as above, but with uncooked cookie! THIS IS UNCOOKED BUT CONTAINS NOEGGS.

Cupcakes

*Strawberry Lemonade - Fresh Lemon cupcake with real strawberry filling (not store bought jam), fresh strawberry icing and sprinkled with lemon zest.

*Peanut Butter and Jelly - Peanut butter cupcake with jelly filling, chocolate drizzle on top. No icing.

*Lemon blueberry - Fresh Lemon cake with fresh blueberries, super light vanilla icing, sprinkled with lemon zest and topped with a blueberry.

*Peach - Peach cupcakes (made with real fruit) with brown sugar icing.

*Chocolate Lovers - Chocolate chocolate chip cake, chocolate ganache filling with chocolate icing, topped with chocolate shavings.

*Vanilla Lovers - Vanilla vanilla chip cake, vanilla filling, vanilla icing and vanilla chocolate shavings.

*Red Velvet - red velvet cake with cream cheese filling and cream cheese icing, topped with a light chocolate drizzle.

Candy

Bacon Fudge
Pumpkin Fudge
Vanilla Bean Fudge
Variety of lollipops
Sea Glass

Yes.... this is a large list. But trust me, it was much bigger. I'm trying to decide what to remove. There were plenty others that I would love have added.. like strawberry champagne cupcakes or blueberry muffin truffles... Once the info is sent to me I can determine what to do with this list based on the anticipated amount of guests and what not.

Regardless, this is exciting.

Additionally, I will have flyers, brochures, and business cards available to hand out! I'm thinking maybe some stickers for packaging... the works.

But dont worry my readers... this is not going to be as pricey as it sounds! :)

On another note, I started my acupuncture treatments on Thursday afternoon. I was terrified that the needles will hurt. They didnt! Save for one... the one that was placed right between my eyebrows. That was not pleasant. But one out of 19 is not bad at all.

Reactions -

1- During the half hour in treatment, parts of my body started to tingle. Almost like that light tingle right before your foot falls asleep or something. It was happening in my left cheek, the bottom of my feet, and the palm of my left hand. No needles were in any of these places.

2 - Today, the day after treatment, I am noticing a change in my left ear. I had explained to her that my ear has been clogged up for well over two months. It started out with a cold, I got an earache in the left ear, it got clogged, then it drained and my cold went away. About 2 weeks after that, I got an earache again, my ear clogged up again, it stopped hurting but never drained. It pops a lot but my hearing is only back for a few minutes before I have trouble hearing from that ear again. So she put a point in that would help with that. Explained its a sign of dampness in the body, which most of my problems seem to come down to, hence no more dairy... today, my ear has drained a little bit, but mostly it is super achy. I can barely touch the ear without wincing. Everything tells me that this discomfort is a good sign so I'm crossing my fingers!

Anyways, that's about all the news for now. When I have more info about my booth, I'll let you know! Until then, head over to my shop blog and enter for the giveaway! There is only one mandatory entry, but you can enter up to 8 times! Who doesn't like free stuff? JUST CLICK HERE!!!
